First, existing systems, technical dependencies, risks and business goals are analysed. Then we jointly assess which systems need modernizing and which structures can sensibly be kept. On this basis a realistic roadmap emerges — implementation is iterative and controlled, so changes stay testable and operations remain stable at all times.

Digitalbonus Bayern: up to 50% subsidy

The Digitalbonus Bayern programme funds digitalization projects of small and medium-sized companies with up to 50% of the eligible costs: up to 7,500 euros with Digitalbonus Standard and up to 30,000 euros with Digitalbonus Plus. In the initial consultation, Escalt checks whether your project qualifies and helps you prepare the application. The company must submit the application itself via its ELSTER business account — that is a requirement of the programme. Important: the project must not have started yet; a binding order already counts as a start.

Frequently asked questions about IT modernization

Do we have to replace our legacy system completely?

No, and in most cases that would be the most expensive and riskiest route. The usual path is gradual replacement: operations continue, individual parts are carved out and replaced, and each step is usable on its own. A complete rebuild has to be justified.

Does the system keep running during the modernization?

Yes, that is the point of proceeding step by step. The alternative — switching over on a set date — concentrates the entire risk on one day, which is also the day with the fewest options left.

Nobody here knows the legacy system any more. Is that a deal-breaker?

No, it is the normal case with grown systems and one of the most common reasons to start at all. The first step is then a survey of the actual behaviour — what the system does, not what the documentation claims.

How do we know it is time?

Usually not from an outage but from friction: changes take longer than they used to, every new requirement runs into the same limit, extensions are only possible by detour, and security updates can no longer be applied without breaking something else.

Is IT modernization eligible for the Digitalbonus Bayern?

Frequently yes, because here a solution is actually being introduced — unlike with pure consulting. The condition remains that the project must not have begun when the application is submitted: a binding order already counts as a start.
