Digitalbonus Bayern: up to 50% subsidy
The Digitalbonus Bayern programme funds digitalization projects of small and medium-sized companies with up to 50% of the eligible costs: up to 7,500 euros with Digitalbonus Standard and up to 30,000 euros with Digitalbonus Plus. In the initial consultation, Escalt checks whether your project qualifies and helps you prepare the application. The company must submit the application itself via its ELSTER business account — that is a requirement of the programme. Important: the project must not have started yet; a binding order already counts as a start.
Frequently asked questions about digitalization
Where do we start?
With the process that currently costs the most time or produces errors most often. It is rarely the technically most interesting one, but it is the one where the relief is felt immediately — and therefore the one that makes the later steps acceptable inside the company at all.
Do we have to change everything at once?
No, and it is expressly not advisable. Switching in one go ties up the entire day-to-day business and leaves no room to learn from the first step. Digitalization proceeds section by section, with normal operations running alongside.
Our data is unstructured — is it too early for this?
On the contrary, this is the right moment. It is precisely now that you can still decide which data is needed at all, and in what form. Imposing structure on grown data afterwards is the more expensive route.
We are a medical practice, law firm or tax consultancy — is our project eligible for funding?
No. The liberal professions are generally excluded from the Digitalbonus Bayern, even where the project would fit in substance. The programme is aimed at small and medium-sized commercial enterprises. The digitalization itself is unaffected — only the funding falls away.
When is robotic process automation not worth it?
When the process occurs rarely, when it changes frequently, or when each run requires a genuine professional judgement. Automation pays through repetition; without it, mostly what you gain is another system that has to be maintained.
