Digitalbonus Bayern: up to 50% subsidy

The Digitalbonus Bayern programme funds digitalization projects of small and medium-sized companies with up to 50% of the eligible costs: up to 7,500 euros with Digitalbonus Standard and up to 30,000 euros with Digitalbonus Plus. In the initial consultation, Escalt checks whether your project qualifies and helps you prepare the application. The company must submit the application itself via its ELSTER business account — that is a requirement of the programme. Important: the project must not have started yet; a binding order already counts as a start.

Frequently asked questions about software development

Standard software or custom development — what decides it?

Whether a standard product exists that maps your processes without contorting them. If it does, it is almost always the cheaper route, and Escalt will say so. Custom development pays off where the process itself is the competitive advantage, or where several systems have to be brought together.

Who owns the results, and do we get the source code?

After full payment you receive a right of use for the work results created for you, unlimited in time and territory — including the right to develop them further yourselves or through third parties. Handover of the source code is a separate matter: it applies where it has been agreed in text form, and therefore belongs in the contract rather than at the end of the project. See the Terms (AGB, German), section 7.

How long does a custom application take?

That depends on the scope and cannot be answered in the abstract. After the initial consultation and a rough requirements review there is a dependable estimate — before that, any figure would be a claim.

Can we start with a small part?

That is in fact the recommended route. A clearly bounded first section that is actually used in production says more about the requirements than a complete concept on paper — and it limits the damage if an assumption turns out to be wrong.

What happens after launch?

Escalt remains your contact for further development, adjustments and day-to-day operation. Whether that is a fixed arrangement or on demand is agreed between us — being tied to a maintenance contract is not a precondition for the implementation.
